Product Design
When Ebac design a new product - the first and most important thing we do it speak to our customers - to find out what they want. We don't assume anything, and starting from a blank piece of paper, we talk to more and more people to discover how we can create the perfect product to suit their needs.
Ebac conducted extensive customer surveys before starting product designs, and we'd like to share a little of what we leaned with you...
Stainless Steel
• What door colour, finish would you be most likely to purchase?
When we asked people what type of finish they were looking for from their ideal fridge, we were a little surprised to see just how many people chose 'Stainless Steel' – a massive 42% of all respondents. White also received a good portion of votes at 30%.

Fresh Food Space
• Which of the following is most important?
People like fresh food space - most of what we buy is fresh food which is why we think 46% of people chose this option. Frozen food space although useful, was only chosen by 12% of respondents.

How did this help Ebac?
This helped Ebac to understand how people think about their food storage, fresh food is generally easier and healthier than frozen food. Although we still feed people value a good amount of frozen food space, we maximised fresh food storage space in a selection of our Fridge-Freezers.
Wine Rack or Extra Shelf?
• Which of the following is most important?
The extra shelf was the clear winner here with 62% of respondents saying they would prefer to have an extra shelf over a Wine Rack.

• How did this help Ebac?
A Wine Rack can be an extravagant use of space in smaller fridges, which is why all of our smaller models features an extra Anti-Roll Shelf rather than a Wine Rack to ensure customers have maximum storage space for fresh food and bottles/cans. Wine Racks are still available is some of our larger models.
Anti-Fingerprint
• If you could chose only one of the following features which would you chose?
A massive 77% of people chose Anti-Fingerprint coating as their preferred feature, and only 15% of people felt that they would not buy Stainless Steel.

• How did this help Ebac?
Not only did this question re-enforce how popular Stainless Steel was, but also told us that having an Anti-Fingerprint coating was vital - which is why ALL of our Stainless Steel models feature a unique coating which uses nano-technology to prevent fingerprint marks.

After conducting this research and analysing the results, we were able to start coming up with some designs and features that would perfectly meet customer expectations. After years of product refinement and planning, the Ebac Refrigeration range finally launched in May 2008.
